DCC Web-Related Documentation Menu

The main (first) document in an NPS web site should be named index.html or index.htm

Note: NPS web pages may be modified only by NPS staff. While others may assist with web site design, the content must be reviewed, approved, and uploaded by an NPS staff member responsible for the content of that web site.

NPS Web Policies
Norman Public School District policies for use of NPS web sites, the Internet, and NPS wide-area network (WAN) resources. All NPS district, site, and staff web pages should comply with these policies.

Links to Files on W: (or C:)
Oh, so you want your links to work for other people too? This document briefly discusses links to resources on local and network drives.

NPS Logos
NPS Logos (graphics) you may find useful for your web pages or documents. Remember: All NPS web pages should include an NPS logo. (NPS Regulation 2993-1 (3) IV. A. 1.)

Nvu
Nvu (pronounced N-view) is a WYSIWYG - what you see is what you get - web authoring system. It is based on the Mozilla/Netscape Composer system and is now included in the UDT-XP software suite.

Web Matrix
Web Matrix is the Microsoft web authoring system designed to work with ASP.NET. It is included in the UDT-XP software suite.

Webpad
WebPad (aka Microsoft Frontpage Express) is a simple-to-use web page creator/editor included on older UDT systems (versions 2.3 and earlier running Windows NT 4.0). Click here to download a Frontpage Express Installer for other Windows systems.

Manage Web Pages
How to manage your individual staff web page or the web site for your school. Also contains a brief ftp section describing how to access NPS web pages from outside of the NPS district.

Podcasting Storage/Bandwidth Chart
A podcast is an audio or video file that can be downloaded (or streamed) via the Internet. In education we sometimes forget about the hidden costs (storage and network bandwidth) for these seemingly 'free' technologies. This link shows a chart of podcasting storage/bandwidth costs. This web page contains a sample of a web form that does not rely on server-side CGI scripts
