Interwrite Workspace®
is the software interface for the eIstruction DualBoard interactive whiteboard.
You can
download
a 45-day trial copy of the software from the eInstruction web site.
The eInstruction download also includes several links to manuals and training resources.
Every Intelligent Classroom package will include:
• Professional Development
Panasonic, eInstruction,
and the University of Oklahoma's K20 Center
will partner with Norman Public Schools to ensure every NPS teacher
has the skill set to take full advantage of these exciting new educational technologies.
You can see a list of upcoming Intelligent Classroom Training sessions on the NPS
Professional Development Calendar.
• Interactive Whiteboard
INTERWRITE DualBoard.
The DualBoard allows two people to work collaboratively (or competitively)
at the board... at the same time.
Most of our DualBoards will be wall-mounted; some will be on portable stands.
The DualBoards in elementary schools will be height-adjustable to accommodate our younger students.
The DualBoard will have a wireless* connection to the laptop computer.
The Panasonic TC-P58S2 plasma display and the Luidia eBeam interactivity solution
have been substitued for the eInstruction Dualboard and Sanyo projector in selected areas (e.g., some conference rooms).
• Projector
The Sanyo
PDG-DXL100 ultra short-throw projector will be mounted on a small boom arm extending
from the top of the board mount. A video cable will connect the projector to the laptop
(and possibly to the doccument camera as well).
To preserve the life of your projector and the you should periodically
clean the two air filters.
• Wireless* Interactive Remote-User Slates
INTERWRITE MOBI.
Each classroom package will include one teacher MOBI (\"slate\" or \"tablet\") plus two student MOBI that
can simultaneously interact with and contribute to the digital content displayed on the DualBoard...
from anywhere in their classroom!
Each MOBI is a wireless graphics tablet with an attached stylus that functions like the electronic
pens for the DualBoard. The teacher MOBI has a color display.
The two student MOBI have same size tablet work area but have slightly smaller monochrome displays.
• Wireless* Student Response System
INTERWRITE Cricket
(for Pre-K to Grade 2) or
CPSPulse
(for Grades 3-12).
The student response (\"clicker\") system will allow
an entire class to respond to prepared or impromptu questions and give teachers
immediate feedback to gauge both overall and individual comprehension of the material.
Note that some sites may receive different response systems if models change prior to
installation at your site.
• Document Camera
Each Intelligent Classroom will also include a
Lumens Ladybug DC211
autofocus/autoexposure document camera with a capture area
large enough to display two pages of most books.
The 6x zoom camera head and the two cool-burning LED lights are mounted on gooseneck
arms for maximum flexibility.
In addition to displaying books, papers, maps, etc., the Ladybug
can also capture pictures of three dimensional objects and record videos of
educational activities.
It even includes a microscope adapter for science classes.
• Computer Cart
The laptop and document camera will be on an H. Wilson
presentation cart with lockable storage compartment.
This cart offers multiple work surfaces at various heights and can be configured
for use from a sitting or standing position.
We specified the cable lengths from the board to the cart should be a
minimum of 12 feet to allow some flexibility in positioning.
• Audio Speakers
• Laptop Computer
The Intelligent Classroom laptop will be wireless-ready* (802.11a/g/n)
and will be able to access district and
Internet resources via both wired and wireless connections.
While the details have not yet been finalized, we expect the computer will probably be
similar to our current district standard laptop
upgraded to the Intelligent Classroom specifications
and include the software listed below.
• Software
Each of the following should be on every laptop (unless otherwise noted):
- Windows XP Pro (w/ license for Windows 7)
- Anti-Virus
- Inspiration
- Kidspiration (only on laptops for Pre-K through Grade 2)
- Microsoft Office Pro Plus 2007 (w/ license for Office 2010)
- Open Office
- Movie Maker
- KompoZer / Komposer
- Media Player
- Audacity + LAME
- Java
- Adobe
- Quicktime
- Photo Story 3
- Multiple web browsers: Internet Explorer, Firefox, & Chrome
- Printer drivers
- Desktop Shortcut to Google Docs/Google Mail
- CutePDF
- Flash
- Software provided by Panasonic for Intelligent Classroom to run all pieces of the project
- Computrace or tracking system
• Warranty & Maintenance Agreement
The equipment warranties and support contracts will last for the duration of the 5-year bond period.
* Wireless Notes: The wireless connections between the laptop computer,
the DualBoard, the MOBI, and the student response system will be local
(within the classroom) and will not traverse our district wireless network.
While most of our Intelligent Classroom laptop computers will have wired
network connections for speed and reliability, all will include a wireless
network card and be capable of wireless connection to district and Internet
resources using our district wireless network.
What an exciting time for our District!
