Who should you contact when you have a technology problem? Campus EmergenciesIf a technology problem is affecting your entire campus - or a significant portion of your campus (such as an entire wing) - then you should call 366-5822, the main telephone number for the District Computer Center (DCC), to report the problem. The person answering that phone is our point of contact for major technology problems and will know who to inform of your issues. We will give that person status reports as progress is made. Please do not call other individuals at the DCC to report problems or request updates. Doing so interferes with their work and may delay the resolution of your issue.Single point of contact: Please have one person at your site contact the DCC main number when an emergency arises. Having a single person call and report the problem helps us more quickly answer and respond to calls from multiple sites during district-wide crises. Call congestion for our single reception line makes it more difficult for us to get a complete picture of the scope and details of the problem. It also makes it more difficult for us to notify you when the problem has been resolved. We appreciate your cooperation. Technology Work Request - TWRMost technology problems should be reported to the district by submitting a Technology Work Request (TWR). Both your Site Contact Person and your school secretary have the ability to generate a TWR for you.Need help NOW? Your Site Contact is a technology liaison for your campus and may be able to help resolve your issue locally without waiting for a TWR. Some campuses have more than one Site Contact. The district Technical Support Specialists make regularly scheduled site visits to each campus to assist with computer problems and installations. They work with your local Site Contacts to prioritize the TWRs for the next scheduled site visit day. Serious problems may require us to bring malfunctioning equipment back to the workbench at the DCC for diagnostics and repair. |
