Microsoft Updates
This site offers the latest security patches and updates for Microsoft
Products (Windows, Internet Explorer, Outlook, etc.).
You should regularly update your computer(s) with the latest security
patches to prevent others from exploiting vulnerabilities in the Microsoft

OpenOffice
The OpenOffice productivity software suite includes several components.
(1) Draw is a vector-based (object-based) drawing package that
can export a variety of vector and raster (bitmap) graphic formats.
(2) Impress is similar to Powerpoint and creates on-screens
presentations.
(3) Calc is compatible with Excel and can create spreadsheets
and simple databases.
(4) Writer is compatible with Microsoft Word and can create
formatted "text" documents.
OpenOffice components can export Microsoft-compatible files,
Adobe Reader PDF documents, and HTML web pages.

The Microsoft Office productivity software suite includes
(1) Access for databases;
(2) Excel for spreadsheets and simple databases;
(3) Outlook for email, contacts, and calendar;
(4) Powerpoint for on-screen presentations;
(5) Publisher for flyers and newsletters; and
(6) Word for formatted "text" documents.
Word and Publisher can also export HTML web pages.
Microsoft offers free file
viewers
which allow you to view (i.e., read, but not edit) Microsoft format documents.
"Web Browser" -- Mozilla Firefox
Firefox is a free, open-source and cross-platform web browser that includes tabbed
browser windows, pop-up blocking, customizable toolbars, and an extensions manager.
Nvu
Nvu (pronounced N-view) is a WYSIWYG - what you see
is what you get - web authoring system based on the Mozilla/Netscape
Composer software.
Web Matrix
Web Matrix is the Microsoft web authoring system designed to work with ASP.NET.
GIMP Image Editor
The GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP) is a powerful graphics software
application for photo retouching, image editing and image authoring.
It is similar to PhotoShop. Documentation is available using the link above,
from the Help menu within the GIMP program, and from these links:

Picture Manager
While it is primarily a file management tool, and not an editing tool,
Picture Manager does have some image correction and editing features.

but is optional with UDT version 3.0 and above.
