- Have a variety of Frog and Toad books by Arnold
Lobel for students to read.
- Using an Averkey or projection device, model how
to create a Venn diagram using Paint (Start>Common
Programs>Accessories>Paint) or KidPix
.

- Label the circles Frog, Toad,
and the intersection as Frog &
Toad. Have students brainstorm the
attributes of the Frog and Toad characters in the
stories they have read.

- Have students open an Internet browser (Start>Common
Programs>Navigator or Internet
Explorer) and type in the following address:
http://allaboutfrogs.org.
Bookmark the site.
- Direct students to scroll down to Weird
Frog Facts, then click on Frog
and Toad, and take notes on the
differences between frogs and toads.
- Choose one of the following online encyclopedias
to access further information about frogs and
toads: Worldbook Online http://www.worldbookonline.com
.
- After students discuss their findings with a
partner have each student choose 3 facts to put
into a Venn diagram about Frogs and Toads.
- Using Paint or KidPix have students create their
own labelled Venn diagram comparing real frogs
and toads. Direct students to Save
(File>Save) and Print
(File>Print) their work.
