Scope & Sequence Objective

Students insert, move, and resize a graphic in a document.

Students type sentences.

Students use copy, cut, and paste.

Description: Students will explore aquatic food webs and create a web using Inspiration.

Lesson :
1. Students will construct aquariums.

2. Students should understand the basic ideas behind predator/prey relationships, including those that involove humans using animals for food.

3. Students will answer questions about food webs involving fish.

4. Next, students will go to Inspiration to make an aquatic food web. They need to enter the main topic into the center bubble, and then they can click on the RapidFire button which will extend sub-topic bubbles out from the main bubble of the web.

5. Students can also view their web in outline form by going to VIEW>OUTLINE on the menu bar.

6. Students can finally save their work (FILE>SAVE AS), and print out their web (FILE>PRINT). As a print option, students will want to select "fit to page."

NOTES
Extensions: Have students construct a food web diagram of the predators and prey seen in the game they play on-line (http://www.gamescene.com/somethingfishy.html).
