Scope & Sequence Objective -
Students open and save files to their own network drive (U: drive/ My stuff)

Students use a web browser, buttons, and hypertext links

Students use a favorites or bookmarked list to access web sites

Students use tools in a paint program: pencil, eraser, paintbrush, spray can, and paint bucket

Students change colors and patterns in a paint program.

Description: Students visit "Great Buildings" site and keep a talley sheet on shapes they find. Then students will then create a shape picture in Paint.

Lesson :
1. Students go to visit http://www.greatbuildings.com/pix/picture_index_010.html.

2. Students make talley marks on a worksheet as they find shapes.

3. Students choose their favorite building and share as a "shape walk."

4. Students visit the virtual museum and go on a tour to look for shapes. Go to http://illuminations.nctm.org/imath/across/connections/tour/index.html.

5. Students can also explore geosolids for properties at http://illuminations.nctm.org/imath/3-5/GeometricSolids/GeoSolids.html.

6. In MSPaint students make a shape picture (overlapping shapes) and color . Students should save their work to the U: drive.

NOTES:
You could also take a digital camera and take pictures of shapes in the school.
