Lesson :
1. Have students explore web sites for information. It's best if teachers have appropriate web sites bookmarked for students. Some good web sites are listed in the resources below. Teachers need to make sure they discuss Internet safety with students as well as NPS policies.

2. Then in Word (START>Common Programs>Word), students will write a fantasy story about a trip in Space. They may add clip art and change font as desired. Students need to save their work to their U: drive (FILE>SAVE AS).

3. The teacher can print the stories to make a class book, or the teacher can save them to a PowerPoint presentation for the class web page.

NOTES
Students can make a vocabulary list in Word with clip art (sun, moon, stars, clouds, birds, airplanes, shuttles). Students can also make a Venn Diagram with Paint to compare the moon/Earth or sun/Earth, etc.
