Description: Students will
utilize the paint program to show a habitat for certain
animals or plants and write a math story problem to go
with their illustration. Lesson : 1. Open a paint program (Start > Common Programs > Accessories > Paint). 2. Encourage students to explore the tools of the program, trying the pencil, eraser, paintbursh, spray can, and paint bucket. 3. After exploration have students go to Edit > Select All... to select all the page, then Edit > Cut to clear the page. 4. Now have students create an animal habitat picture using more than one animal in their natural habitat. 5. Direct students to write a number sentence telling a story problem about the habitat picture and animals. 6. Have students Print their work (File > Print).* *To make sure that pictures print to just one page you must change the page size. Online Resources
