| Oklahoma PASS Objectives Science XI. Characteristics and Basic Needs of Organisms B. Plants and animals have features (e.g., breathing structures, limbs, skin covering, seed dispersal, roots, stems, and leaves) that help them live in environments such as air, water, or land. XII. Life Cycles of Organisms A. Plants and animals have life cycles that include developing into adults, reproducing, and eventually dying. The details of this life cycle are different for different organisms. NPS Curriculum Students will observe freshwater organism in classroom aquarium. Students will identify male and female guppies. Students will observe the growth and development of young guppies and snails. NPS Technology Students start, restart, and correctly shut down the computer. Students click, double-click, and click and drag the mouse. Students recognize program and document icons. Students click on an icon, folder, or document to open or start a program. Students log on and off the NPS network correctly. Students insert a letter or word using the cursor. Students use the keyboard to type capitals and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols. Students use the enter, space bar and backspace keys. Students use punctuation keys. Students type words. Students use a word processing program. Students delete text. Students select text and change the ext size, font, and style. |
Description: Students will
observe organisms in their aquariums and type their
finding with a word processing program. Lesson : 1. Have students open a word processing program (Start > Common Programs > Word). 2. Students type their observations in a "daily journal." 3. Demonstrate how to use the space bar (return/enter) and how to delete text using the backspace key. 4. Demonstrate how to change the font size and make bold text. 5. Have students Save (File > Save), and quit the program. 6. Each day students will open their document and add new information. Online Resources
