GLO 2007 was held on Saturday morning, January 27, 2007, 8:00-12:30, at Longfellow Middle School, 215 N. Ponca Avenue, Norman, Oklahoma.  Local band Refuje entertained registrants from 8:00 until the festival began at 8:45. After the first workshop sessions participants heard from singer/songwriter Betty Sullivan. Mrs. Sullivan is the matriarch of the singing Sullivan Family. She has performed professional across the nation, including several engagements at New York City's Algonquin Hotel. She has even performed at Carnegie Hall, perhaps the premier concert forum in America. Mrs. Sullivan began her dynamic keynote by singing her original song "If Not Now, When" then went on to challenge participants to continue developing their talents. She also involved the audience in creative rhythm and improvisation to create a GLO chorus.

The Get the Lead Out! (GLO) Festival for Young Authors and Artists is an annual project of the Longfellow Gifted and Talented Program. GLO was instituted in 2003 to recognize and foster the talents and skills of students in grades 4-8 across Norman Public Schools by providing opportunities for them to work with career professionals in the arts and writing. Workshop sessions at the festival focus on hands-on experience and introduce career options in the arts.

Who should attend?  You, if you enjoy writing, poetry, drawing, painting, sculpture, pottery, collage, filming video, or making jewelry or crafts!
