GLO 2009 will be held Saturday morning, February 7, 2009, 8:00-12:30, at Longfellow Middle School, 215 N. Ponca Avenue, Norman, Oklahoma. We are still in the planning stages, so please come back later to check out the information about this year's festival. We hope to have the flyer online by December 1, 2008.

The Get the Lead Out! (GLO) Festival for Young Authors and Artists is an annual project of the Longfellow Gifted and Talented Program. GLO was instituted in 2003 to recognize and foster the talents and skills of students in grades 4-8 across Norman Public Schools by providing opportunities for them to work with career professionals in the arts and writing. Workshop sessions at the festival focus on hands-on experience and introduce career options in the arts.

Who should attend?  You, if you enjoy writing, poetry, drawing, painting, sculpture, pottery, collage, filming video, or making jewelry or crafts!

GLO 2008 was held on Saturday morning, January 26, 2008, at Longfellow Middle School.  A local band entertained registrants in the Longfellow Auditorium from 8:00 until the festival began at 8:45. The keynote was delivered by a special mystery guest arranged by Dr. Roger Brown, Director of Secondary Instruction for Norman Public Schools.
