If you haven’t downloaded it yet, tap on your Apple or Android icon, search and download School Connect. It’s that easy! The first baccalaureate meeting will be on Sunday, Feb 12 @ McFarlin Methodist Church @ 2:30pm. We will plan to meet in one of the rooms on the second floor, off of Finn Hall. This meeting is opened to seniors and their parents. If you would like to participate and cannot attend this meeting, come to North’s main office and we will give you contact info. Fenris, North’s annual writing anthology, is now accepting submissions in poetry, short stories, essays, artwork, photography and music. Turn in submissions and inquiries to S218 by Friday, March 2nd. The Computer Proficiency Exam is being offered this week. Students who pass this exam may bypass Business Tech and enroll in more advanced computer classes. See Mrs. Klumpp in N202. This test is only offered once each year so take it now!! Girl’s State applications are now available in the counselors’ offices. This is a program at the end of the year for junior girls only. Juniors: If you plan to attend college or a technical school and you will be the first generation in your family to do so, there is a scholarship opportunity for you. A Foundation of Promise for First Generation Scholars provides you a chance to start the application process now. Please see your counselor before February 15, 2012 to begin the application process. Singing Valentines will go on sale starting Monday in the Commons. Prices are $5, $10 and $15. Order yours early so you won’t miss out! Double Dave’s Restaurant is hosting a competition between us and Southmoore HS for the month of February. East there at lunch, tell them which school you are with, and we could win $250 for SPUD week. The Oklahoma City Thunder invites students to participate in the 4th annual Black History Heroes Challenge! In honor of Black History Month, students are encouraged to submit a creative piece highlighting their hero from black history. By entering, students become eligible to win prizes courtesy of the OKC Thunder. Stop by the main office for details. NN Course Fair is around the corner—it’s set for Feb 15th @ 6:30-8:00pm. DEN offers a tour of the school while PTA hands out door prizes, pop and popcorn. The Astronomy dome is always a big hit, you’ll want to step inside and see how interesting that is!
