Board of Education

Board Policies & Regulations


The Norman Board of Education is committed to the demanding job of overseeing and setting policies for the District that ensure all students are offered a quality education. Members are elected to staggered, five-year terms by a majority vote of the voters in the designated election district they represent. Regular board meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the third Monday of each month at the Norman City Council Chambers, 201 West Gray. The public is invited to attend.

The Board encourages parental and community involvement and works closely with the Norman Public Schools Citizens Advisory Council to explore various issues related to education. The Board believes in communicating with the public about the needs and achievements of the district. Citizens are encouraged to contact board members with questions, ideas and/or concerns.
