Located in the 3rd largest city in Oklahoma and the home of the University of Oklahoma, NPS serves approximately 15,000 students in pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade. Led by state and nationally distinguished Superintendent Dr. Joseph Siano since 2000, it is the 10th largest school district in the state, yet has the 2nd highest number of National Merit Semifinalists and Finalists, U.S. Blue Ribbon Schools, Oklahoma Reward Schools and National Board Certified teachers. Both U.S. News & World Report and Newsweek magazine have named the districts' high schools among the top 5 percent nationally and NPS is the only district in the state to have all of its high schools recognized by both publications in 2012.
In any given year, NPS earns State Championships in various athletics, fine arts and academic events. In fact, it also is home to the two-time WORLD champion Norman Advanced Robotics team and, in 2012, men's soccer at Norman North was named NATIONAL champions by ESPN. At NPS, we excel at it all!
