Bright Beginnings Academy

The NPS Pre-K program and Early Childhood teacher are placed in off campus sites that offer childcare to Norman families.  Students are Norman Public School members receiving explicit curriculum instruction and support.  Students must be 4 years old by September 1, 2014 to enroll.  The instructional portion of the student’s day is the same 2.5 hour program delivered at regular school sites. The Oklahoma State Department of Education’s Pre-Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines are used in all sites.  This curriculum is delivered in an integrated manner within thematic units that are relevant to the four-year-old child.  Currently, Pre-K programs are located at Bright Start Early Education Center, FBC Sonlight Preschool, McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Daycare, and Middle Earth Child Development Center. NPS has entered into a one-year contract with these centers. Enrollment is held at each site separately from NPS enrollment.
