This page contains information regarding all fundraising for the NHS band & orchestra for the 2009/2010 school year.

We do two different types of fundraising; the first is fundraising for the program, this includes contests, equipment, buses, and new music. Secondly, we fundraise for the students individual accounts, this is primarily used for saving money for the yearly trip we take.

There are two primary program fundraisers each year; two for the band and one for the orchestra, both occuring in the fall. Both the band and the orchestra participate in selling Taste of Norman tickets and the band does concessions in the Santee Lounge at all home OU football games.

Personal fundraisers occur through out the school year and those are detailed below.

CURRENT FUNDRAISERS

OU Santee Lounge (B)

This is a fundraiser for the band parents association, it involves working concessions at the OU Santee Lounge (the donor lounge) during OU home football games. Parents and students are asked to sign-up for at least one game during the season to help out, student space is limited. Arrival time is approximately 4 hours prior to kick-off and lasts through the game, it is a long day, but the time flies and it is a GREAT help to our program. Nut & Pecan Fundraiser (B&O)

Students are selling nuts & pecans picked from the current harvest from Durham Ellis Pecans out of Commanche, Texas. All of the items are excellent products for gifts and cooking alike during this holiday season. Orders are DUE with money on Thursday November the 12th to Mr. Deardorf so that they can be ordered and arrive before the Christmas break. Students will recieve atleast 50% profit from these items and will be put into their Orlando trip accounts.

Candy (B&O)

Students will be selling candy in the middle to end of October, this will be a personal trip account fundraiser. More information soon.

McDonald's Night (B&O)

Thursday, November the 19th, we will be working from 5-7pm at the McDonalds location at Alemeda and 12th; 8-10 students are needed. We recieve 20% of the sales during that time period and those proceeds will be split amongst those who worked and put in their trip account. This is the first time we are trying this and if it is successful we will add more dates.

Coasters (B&O)

This is a cool and unique product that students will have the opportunity to sell. We will most likely at this point be selling 3 different styles. One will be a custon Norman High design, and then an OU, & OSU design as well. Samples of the college themed ones can be found here. Coasters will be sold for $10 and students recieve 50% for profit, there are 2 coasters per pack. Look for this product end of October/early November.

Sonic Cards (B&O) ***Temporarily unavailable***
Sonic cards will be checked out to students 5 at a time and will be sold for $5 a piece. These cards have coupons that work with food and drinks. Any card that is checked the student is responsible for, so they either must turn in the un-sold cards or the money.
