ribbon cutting

Norman Public Schools (NPS) officially unveiled the newly upgraded Harve Collins Stadium with a ribbon cutting ceremony on September 19, marking a proud new chapter for the home of the Norman High Tigers.

The event celebrated enhancements that have “Tigerized” the stadium, creating a modernized space that reflects school pride and strengthens the game-day experience for students, families, and the community. Upgrades include renovated locker rooms and concession stands, an updated press box, and new logos at midfield and in the end zones.

“This is a historic moment for Norman High,” said NPS Superintendent Dr. Nick Migliorino. “For the first time in more than a decade, our Tigers have their own true home field. These upgrades not only honor the traditions of Norman High but also provide a first-class space for our students to compete and our community to come together.”

NHS Football Coach Rocky Martin shared, “This is such a proud and exciting day to finally call this stadium our home. I want to thank the Norman community and Norman Public Schools for their vision and support of athletics. Every time I drive by, it feels like a brand-new stadium, and that’s because of the incredible effort of so many people. To our team, this is your home, take pride in it. Many players came before you who didn’t have these facilities. We say, ‘look good, feel good, play good,’ and this place makes us feel great. We are grateful and ready to play.”

NHS Principal Hallie Wright addressed her students at the ceremony: “This is your stadium. I want to thank the community and everyone who played a part in making this possible. I’m proud and excited for our students and fans to finally have a stadium of our own. This has always been a place where memories are made and traditions grow, and I can’t think of a more perfect night than homecoming to celebrate our true home. Thank you all, and let’s bring home a homecoming victory.”

NPS Athletic Director T.D. O’Hara echoed the excitement, noting the impact on student-athletes: “Having a true home field makes a world of difference. Our players, coaches, and fans now have a place that reflects our Tiger pride and gives our students the facilities they deserve. This is a special day for Norman High athletics.”

The ceremony marked not only the completion of the project but also the return of Norman High athletics to a home field the Tigers can proudly call their own.
