Classes are cancelled for December 19, 2025
Semester end information will come from your child’s school
Dear NPS Families,
On Friday, December 19, a College Football Playoff game will take place at the University of Oklahoma. Because of this event, we expect very heavy traffic and road closures near the university. Many visitors will be in town, and it will be hard to travel around the area. These road closures will create significant challenges for school bus routes and for families and staff traveling to and from schools.
Norman Public Schools is taking proactive steps to ensure the safety of our students, families, and staff. We understand that canceling school can create challenges for families, and we did not make this decision lightly. However, this decision was made with the safety and security of our students, staff, and families as our top priority.
For this reason, Norman Public Schools has made the decision to cancel classes for Friday, December 19.
This change will also affect a few district events planned for that day. Please review the updated information below:
Crosstown Clash for Basketball has been rescheduled for Thursday, December 18th
Please watch for additional information from your child’s school regarding end-of-semester events, activities and schedule for semester finals.
Additionally, the District Offices will close at noon on December 19th.
